TCU shouldn’t need much incentive when it plays at Texas on Sept. 8. But thanks to an Austin columnist, the Frogs have something to put on their bulletin boards and read for the next month.
Kirl Bohls, the outstanding sports columnist for the Austin American Statesman, wrote about how UT coach Mack Brown is trying to crack down on off-field misbehavior. He suspended Sergio Kindle and Henry Melton for the first three games after their DUI arrests during the summer.
Bohls then discussed how much the Longhorns would “suffer” because of the suspensions:
“True, Texas accidentally is playing Hill Country Middle School's schedule this year with opponents Arkansas State, Texas Christian and Central Florida up first before perennial bowl team Rice comes to town.’’
What’s worse for TCU? Being compared to a middle school? Or being compared to Arkansas State, Central Florida and Rice?
