Fast-rising TCU will face No. 1 Texas when the teams play in Austin on Sept. 8.
At least, that’s according to selling stuff.
The Austin American-Statesman reported that Texas, for the second consecutive year, is No. 1 in collecting royalties from the Collegiate Licensing Company. The company’s rankings represent the fiscal year from July 1, 2006 through June 30, 2007.
TCU is ranked 58th in royalies collected. It jumped 12 spots from last year, the biggest gainer on the CLC list.
Texas is on top of the CLC list for the second consecutive year. In the current rankings, Notre Dame is second followed by Florida, Michigan, Georgia, North Carolina, Alabama, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Penn State. (It’s worth noting that Ohio State is not affiliated with CLC.)
CLC is based in Georgia and has licensing deals with nearly 200 colleges.
