Sure, the Longhorns are bowl-bound again this season. But to which bowl will Texas (8-2) head?
This week's game against Texas Tech (7-3) should tell us a lot. A win keeps Texas on track to a 10-2 record that could land an at-large berth in a BCS bowl. A loss takes the BCS option out of the loop but strengthens the probablility that the Gator Bowl would make a move to pair the Longhorns against an ACC opponent on Jan. 1 in Jacksonville, Fla.
How likely is Texas to wind up in a BCS bowl game with a 10-2 record? Much depends on what other teams do between now and Dec. 1. But if Oklahoma winds up as the Big 12 champion and Ohio State finishes undefeated to earn a berth in the BCS title game, that will help the Longhorns' BCS prospects greatly.
