A chunk of turf and a fumble contributed to Week 12's biggest upsets.
Oregon quarterback Dennis Dixon tore the ACL in his left knee while making a cut against Arizona Thursday night. After Dixon went down, the Ducks were demoralized and the Wildcats were able to upset the second-ranked team, 34-24, Thursday night.
Oklahoma, one of six teams in the national championship chase, saw its chances evaporate with a 34-27 loss at Texas Tech. The Sooners’ offense was crippled when redshirt freshman quarterback Sam Bradford turned defender and suffered an injury making a tackle.
Oklahoma was leading 7-0 after an interception return for a TD. After forcing a Texas Tech three-and-out, OU ran its first offensive play. Allen Patrick fumbled and Tech's Marlon Williams recovered.
Bradford tackled Williams and apparently suffered a concussion. The Sooners' offense was without its leader and the Red Raiders went on a 27-0 run to take a 27-10 halftime lead.
