West Virginia fans celebrate victories by burning couches. Mountaineers fans no doubt would like to burn something, but they'll be in no mood to celebrate.
Needing a victory over 4-7 Pitt to reach the national championship game, West Virginia failed. The rivalry known as the Backyard Brawl wound up with the Panthers pulling the 13-9 upset. The Mountaineers became the sixth team ranked No. 2 to be upset this season. West Virginia had three turnovers and missed two field goals.
