Repeating as Big 12 regular season champions is pretty much an impossibility for the Lady Aggies, but they have a chance to exact a little revenge against the teams that cost Texas A&M a shot at the title. The Lady Aggies finish the season against Oklahoma State, Baylor and Oklahoma, three teams that beat Texas A&M in their first games of the season.
It starts at Oklahoma State on Wednesday. In the first meeting, Oklahoma State finished the game with a 12-0 including a late 3-pointer to pull out a 61-58 upset over Texas A&M.
"That one really hurt," Texas A&M coach Gary Blair said. "There's no excuse for not scoring _ not a free throw, not a basket, nothing."
The Lady Aggies are also playing like a different team from back then, having won seven of their last eight games including Sunday's victory against Texas.
"We started taking better percentage shots," Blair said. "Our offense started clicking and we starting putting together 40 minutes of defense rather than 20 or 30."
