A few extras from tonight's TCU-Dallas Baptist game....
*Matt Carpenter, on whether he knew he had a chance at a triple in the seventh inning- "No. They got me out pretty good. That was a good relay."
*TCU coach Jim Schlossnagle on starter Paul Gerrish, and the difference in his first two appearances -"He didn't do bad for his first college outing. He pitched behind in the count a little bit, and we played against a really good club. If he hadn't given up the home run, his line wouldn't have been as bad. He did a great job for us tonight. He hit a wall there towards the middle of the game, having pitched twice in five days."
*Schlossnagle said they may take a wait-and-see approach as to whether freshman pitcher Trent Appleby gets more action this weekend in Minnesota. "He's a guy that guys don't get a good swing on him,'' Schlossnagle said. "He's a great example that you don't have to throw 95 mph to be a good pitcher. He's got a lot of movement. He's hard to pick up. Balls are darting right and left. I'm not sure he knows where it's going." -Trae Thompson
