The Big 12 was the top conference in the RPI all season and the NCAA Tournament committee obviously believed the hype. Eight teams made the tournament and both Baylor and Oklahoma gained a lot of respect despite losing their final three games. The two-thirds of the conference that made the dance were Oklahoma (4 seed) Texas (8), Texas A&M (2), Iowa State (7), Kansas State (5), Oklahoma State (3), Baylor (3) and Nebraska (8). The toughest road might be the one Texas is on. If the Longhorns manage to beat a balanced Minnesota team in the first round, it gets to take on No. 1 Connecticut in Hartford in the second.
