Sounding off

Talked to Horned Frogs coach Jim Schlossnagle after today's doubleheader. Here are some leftover thoughts from today's two games ...

Changes to the lineup in Game 2 - "It sparked us a little bit. We're obviously struggling offensively. It's no secret. Hopefully we can come out of it at some point."

Steven Maxwell's performance - "Really good, really good. He was outstanding. He tightened up there a little bit in his elbow, but I think he's going to be fine. He did a good job."

On the pattern his team is in with opponents right now -"It's going to be real hard for our offense to continue to score a lot of runs if our pitchers don't go out and throw up zeros after we do score runs. The first game, we score one run, then give up three. (In Game 2), we score two, then give up two more. We call them rebound runs, and it's something we talk about all the time and we just can't have them."
