Look at that craziness in Lubbock. It's time to put Texas Tech in the mix as a player in the top half of the Big 12 this season. The reason is because Tech pulled off a stunning series victory against No. 2 Missouri this weekend.
''It was a big win,'' said Tech catcher Monk Kreder, a Keller product who went 4-for-9 in the series. ''Things are starting to click for us. We had quality pitching all weekend and our hitting was there against arguably the best staff in the Big 12.''
After getting shutout in the opener, TT (last place in the Big 12 last year) bounced back in impressive style winning the final two games 3-2 and 15-11 with nine-inning rallies. Doug Thennis blasted a walk-off grand slam to finish Sunday's comeback. Pretty impressive considering Mizzou was mowing people down with its pitching. Tech is now 14-12 and 4-5 in Big 12. The Tigers fell to 20-5, 4-2 and No. 4 in the rankings.
