If having eight teams in the NCAA Tournament didn't show how powerful the Big 12 was this season (the Big East had eight teams also, but it's made up of 16 teams), the NIT field added to the statement. Texas Tech, Kansas and Colorado all made the 48-team field, which means that only Missouri won't be competing in the postseason among Big 12 teams. At 10-21, the Tigers were the only team in the conference not to have a winning record, which is a requirement for the NIT.
