The word here from Lupton Stadium is that Tony Gywnn's San Diego Aztecs expect to have 18 players drafted. That is an unbelievable stockpile of talent. Problem, they don't play like it. The Aztecs were bounced out of the tournament today by Utah. They finished 31-28.
Some believe they don't play hard enough to match their ability. In three MWC tourney games the Aztecs were held to three runs. Are you kidding me? In college baseball? And this team is coached by a Hall of Fame hitter. Go figure.
