TCU junior closer Andrew Cashner was selected with the 19th overall pick by the Chicago Cubs.
Cashner, a 6-foot-6, 180-pound right-hander from Montgomery, transferred to TCU this year from Angelina College. He finished this year 9-4, with nine saves and a 2.32 ERA. In 54 1/3 innings, he allowed only 21 hits, striking out 80 and walking 27. Opponents batted .122 against him.
