Texas A&M backup running back Cornell Tarrant, a 5-foot-10, 190-pound sophomore from Dallas Samuell, has transferred to Stephen F. Austin. Tarrant was lost in a crowded Aggies backfield, where he was behind Mike Goodson, Bradley Stephens, Cyrus Gray and Keondra Smith.
Tarrant played in seven games last season as a redshirt freshman, finishing with 12 carries for 94 yards, including a 69-yard effort against Louisiana-Monroe.
"What we have been able to see of him is that he is a really great athlete," SFA coach J.C. Harper said in a news release. "He has great feet and has the ability to make plays. But most importantly, he is a quality individual with a lot of character. I think he is going to be able to come in here and really help our football team."
