A&M gives Blair raise, contract extension

After leading Texas A&M to its first NCAA Elite Eight appearance, Aggies women’s basketball coach Gary Blair has been rewarded with a raise and contract extension through 2012. The new deal will pay him $800,000 per year.
Blair earned Big 12 Coach of the Year honors last season after leading A&M to a school-record 29 wins and its second consecutive league title.
“Coach Blair has led our women’s basketball program to the heights we knew he would reach upon his hiring five years ago,” Aggies athletic director Bill Byrne said.
