Quick take: If the Red Raiders can stay level-headed, then Lubbock should brace itself. The talent's there, so is the experience. And the defense should be able to carry over the momentum from the improvement it made in 2007. What I want to see is if this team acquires the proper approach and attitude needed to reach elite status.
My player to watch: WR Michael Crabtree (6-3, 214). Going to be hard to top the season like Crabtree had as a freshman last year. Start off with the awards - Biletnikoff Award winner, Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year, first-team All-American. All this came after Crabtree finished tops in receptions (134), receiving yards (1,962) and touchdowns (22). In the team's biggest games last year, he produced, finishing with team highs against Texas (9-195), Oklahoma (12-154) and in the Gator Bowl (9-101).
