Quick take: I really like this team. I know a lot of others are hopping on the BYU bandwagon, but I'm keeping my eye on the Bulls. I'm amazed at how such a young program has become so successful this quickly, and losing two NFL cornerbacks is tough. But I want to see how USF handles more success and more attention. I've seen too many other teams in the past who have been thrust in the spotlight and cratered.
My player to watch: QB Matt Grothe (6-0, 205). The junior dual threat player is on the Maxwell preseason watch list. In 2007, he rushed for 872 yards and threw for 2,670 yards, while also setting a single-game school record with 382 yards passing against Cincinnati.
