Freshman quarterback Robert Griffin started the second period and gave the Bears a spark. On Baylor's second possession of the second quarter, Griffin completed a 26-yard pass to Jay Finley that carried to the Wake Forest 35. But on fourth-and-12 from the 37, Griffin's pass was incomplete and Wake Forest took over on downs with 6:28 left before halftime while nursing a 17-0 lead.
