The Horned Frogs had nearly a "sweep" of sorts Friday night, so I'm sure football coach Gary Patterson hopes that rubs off on his team today in Albuquerque.
The TCU soccer team moved to 2-0 Friday night with a 3-0 win over Xavier. Freshman Jordan Calhoun scored two goals in the match -- which she also did in the season opener -- making her the first freshman in program history to have two goals in the first two games of her career. Jackie Torda finished the night with a goal and assist. Goalkeeper Kelsey Walters posted her second-straight shutout.
The volleyball team opened the season with a 25-18, 25-21, 25-17 sweep of Louisiana Tech in their own Molten/Nike Invitational Friday night. Lauren Otto had her 25th career double-double with 14 kills and 11 digs. They play at 1 p.m. today against UMKC then 7 p.m. vs. Belmont.
In cross country, Festus Kigen finished third Friday night in the Baylor Twilight Invitational in Waco with a time of 18:40.00 in the 6k. Tanja Ivandic was the highest finisher for the TCU women, coming in 15th.
