The TCU football team is about to depart for New Mexico, and senior tailback Aaron Brown and redshirt freshman strong safety Sir Demarco Bledsoe apparently aren't making the trip as neither were on the bus this morning as it left campus. The Frogs play the Lobos at 5 p.m. tomorrow in Albuquerque in the season and conference opener.
TCU coach Gary Patterson was not immediately available for comment.
Junior tailback Ryan Christian had already been named the starter against the Lobos, and Brown is listed second on the depth chart with senior Joseph Turner. Bledsoe is listed as the third strong safety behind senior Stephen Hodge and sophomore Colin Jones.
Brown, who was the preseason Mountain West Conference Player of the Year in 2007, had an up-and-down year last season because of different injuries. His season ended two games early after suffering an ankle injury early against UNLV. Before that, he started seven games and rushed for 490 yards and two touchdowns.
Brown did practice with the team in the Spring, and Brown, Christian and Turner had been rotating with the first team most of fall camp.
Bledsoe received a medical redshirt after suffering a knee injury in the 2007 season opener against Baylor.
