Texas WR Brandon Collins, a reserve expected to be part of the Longhorns' rotation, has been suspended for today's season opener against Florida Atlantic because of an administrative error that resulted in a violation of financial aid rules, school officials announced today.
The error occurred in relation to an off-campus housing check, which Collins cashed in error. Texas athetics director DeLoss Dodds said Collins made financial restitution but will serve a one-game suspsension. Collins will be allowed to compete in next week's game at UTEP, school officials said.
