Nothing is official in regard to a possible postponement of Saturday's Texas-Arkansas game and no decision will be made until Thursday. But all signs seem to be pointing toward a postponement until Sept. 27, when both teams have open dates, unless Hurricane Ike veers significantly off its projected path toward the Texas Gulf Coast.
Texas officials said today that they expect to make an announcement about the status of the game Thursday, once state government agencies plot evacuation routes for Gulf Coast residents. Many of those routes will lead through Austin. Ike is projected to make landfall somewhere near Corpus Christi late Friday night or early Saturday morning.
