It took 51 passes, but Texas QB Colt McCoy just threw his first interception of the 2008 season. The pass, intended for Dan Buckner, was intercepted in the UTEP end zone by Miners' CB Cornelius Brown.
Other than that throw, McCoy has been mostly razor-sharp through his first six-plus quarters of the season. His TDs-to-INTs ration, as things stand, is now 6-1 this season. Last year, it was 22-18 for the 2007 season.
Texas' defense held after the INT, so it's still 28-13 in the third quarter.
