Texas A&M coach Mike Sherman is not ruling senior quarterback Stephen McGee out of next week's Miami game. Sherman said he originally feared McGee might have suffered a torn labrum when he was hit hard completing a third-down pass on the first series against New Mexico on Saturday. However, after an MRI on Monday morning, he said the injury was diagnosed as a sprained right shoulder with a slight separation.
Sherman said McGee won't practice during the bye week and will be day-to-day next week. Jerrod Johnson will run the first-team offense, with Ryan Tannehill getting some snaps behind him. However, Sherman said McGee "didn't do anything that would warrant him not being the starter" against the Hurricanes.
