R.C. Slocum, the only Aggie football coach with more than 100 career victories, will be inducted into the Texas A&M Athletic Hall of Fame on Friday night at the 31st annual Burgess Banquet at Kyle Field. Other inductees include decathlete Ricky Barker (1991), shot put and discus thrower Bobby Jack Gross (1955), baseball player Daylan Holt (2001), volleyball player Jenna Moscovic (2002) and basketall player Vernon Smith (1981). Jerry Cox (1972) will be inducted into the Hall of Honor for his contributions to the school's athletic department.
First-year Aggies football coach Mike Sherman said he was thrilled for Slocum, his former boss when he came to A&M as an offensive line coach in 1989.
"There wouldn't be a hall of fame at A&M if he wasn't in it," Sherman said.
