Any hopes of a Texas A&M comeback against Kansas State basically vanished when Jorvorskie Lane was stopped short of the goal line on fourth-and-goal from the Wildcats 1-yard line with 12:01 left. Kansas State then drove 98 yards in 16 plays to stretch its lead to 37-16. A&M's Jerrod Johnson threw two touchdown passes in the final 3:30, but it was too late for the Aggies.
