Micahel Crabtree caught a 29-yard TD with 44 seconds left in second period and Texas Tech marched to a 38-14 halftime lead over Kansas State in the Big 12 opener for both teams.
It was Crabtree's second TD of the game. Crabtree, who has six catches for 74 yards, now has a school-record tying 30 touchdown receptions in just 17 1/2 games.
Tech ran an amazing 54 plays in the first half against the Wildcats, with quarterback Graham Harrell completing 28-of-38 passes for 316 yards and a whopping five touchdowns. The Red Raiders also rushed 16 times for 101 yards in the first half as Shannon Woods led the way with 59 yards on 12 carries.
