A 31-yard punt return by Josh Smith gave Colorado excellent field position at the Texas A&M 32-yard line with 1:11 left in the opening half. An offsides penalty on the Aggies on a third-down stop prolonged the drive, and the Buffaloes were able to kick a field goal with 3 seconds left. Jameson Davis replaced Aric Goodman, who missed his seventh consecutive kick in the first quarter, and booted the 30-yarder to make it 10-3 at the half.
