Damion James scored 28 points, including 13 in a game-deciding run in the second half, and Gary Johnson had 15 as the Texas Longhorns defeated the Texas A&M Aggies 67-58 in Austin, dropping the Aggies to 1-4 in the Big 12.
Texas' defense limited A&M to 44 shots from the field, and the Aggies hurt themselves by hitting only 12 of 24 free throw attempts. Texas shot only 42 percent from the field, including 2-of-8 from 3-point range and hit 14 of 21 from the foul line.
Texas is 14-4 overall and 3-1 in conference.
Donald Sloan led the Aggies with 17 points.
