Big 12 leader Oklahoma (21-1, 7-0) is ranked No.2 behind Connecticut in the new AP rankings out Monday, the highest ranking for a Sooner men's basketball team since the 1989-90 season.
OU will try to expand on its 9-game winning streak with home games this week against Texas A&M on Wednesday and Colorado on Saturday. The Sooners' are tied with Utah State for the nation's best record. Their 7-0 conference start is the program's best since the 1985 team won 11 in a row in the Big Eight.
Texas (No.16) and Kansas (No.21) are the conference's other two ranked teams.--Mike Jones.
