Texas’ Jordan Shipley and Oklahoma State’s Dez Bryant are among the 37 players on the pre-season watch list for the 2009 Biletnikoff Award, given to the top receiver in college football.
The watch list, released today, includes seven players from Big 12 schools and three players from other Texas-based colleges. Other Big 12 players on the watch list include Texas Tech’s Detron Lewis, Oklahoma’s Ryan Broyles, Kansas State’s Brandon Banks and two receivers from Kansas: Dezmon Briscoe and Kerry Meier.
Players from other Texas colleges include Houston’s Tyron Carrier, SMU’s Aldrick Robinson and UTEP’s Kris Adams.
The list of candidates will be trimmed to 10 semifinalists on Oct. 22, with the winner announced on Dec. 10.
