Sporting News: Big 12 South still the best

Despite a few hiccups in the bowls, the Big 12 South was pretty much acknowledged as the best division in the country last season.

The South still holds the title, but barely, if you believe the Sporting News. The magazine used its own preseason rankings to compile a score for each division, and the South edged the SEC West by one.

If you were to create head-to-head matchups, based on the Sporting News rankings, it would look like this:

Texas vs. Ole Miss

Oklahoma vs. LSU

Oklahoma St. vs. Alabama

Texas Tech vs. Auburn

Baylor vs. Arkansas

Texas A&M vs. Mississippi St.

I like Texas, OU, Tech and maybe even A&M in the head-to-head contests. Any thoughts?
