Florida's Tim Tebow holds a narrow lead on Colt McCoy of Texas in the preseason Heismanpundit.com poll, released today.
Tebow, the 2007 winner, has 58 points and seven first-place votes to edge McCoy (56 points, five first-place votes) in balloting by 13 voters who regularly cover college football. Last years' winner, Oklahoma's Sam Bradford, was third with 41 points and one first-place vote.
How accurate is the poll? Last year, the final ballot correctly called five of the top six finishers as well as Bradford's triumph. Of course, we have 12 regular-season contests to go plus the conference title games.
