Texas linebacker Jared Norton, who began the season as the Longhorns’ starting middle linebacker, is scheduled for season-ending shoulder surgery, school officials announced today. Norton, a senior, was injured in the team’s season opener against Louisiana-Monroe.
Coach Mack Brown said he is optimistic that Norton will be granted a medical redshirt by the NCAA that would allow him to return in 2010.
