We're in a new stadium for this season's Cotton Bowl, but that isn't stopping us from reliving the glorious past. And no look back at previous Cotton Bowls would be complete without reliving the 1979 installment. You know, the Joe Montana/Notre Dame comeback against Houston (aka the Chicken Soup Bowl).
They're showing highlights of that game on the video board right now here at Cowboys Stadium.
Now me being a Pennsylvania girl, I kind of chuckle at the "bad weather" talk about this game. Then again, snow and ice and wind chills that would make an eskimo shudder are bad, no matter where they happen in the country. I'll admit it: I probably would've been watching this one sitting at home, curled up on the couch with my own bowl of chicken soup.
And I would've missed some fabulous history. I have no affiliation with either of the schools, but I'll watch this game on ESPN Classic any time they broadcast it.
