Wide receiver Kadron Boone, a four-star prospect who committed to Texas Tech in September, signed this morning with LSU. Boone, who is from Ocala, Fla., told reporters that the coaching uncertainty in Lubbock following the dismissal of former coach Mike Leach in December made him re-evaluate his future. Boone, a participant in last month's Under Armour All-American game, made it clear at that time that he would begin visiting other schools.
Boone was one of six Tech commitments rated as four-star prospects by Rivals.com on Tuesday night. Among the other five, two already have signed letters of intent: DE Scott Smith and DE Jackson Richards, a Southlake Carroll player.
The other four are expected to sign later today. Included is Denton Ryan QB Scotty Young.
