Nebraska and Oklahoma have been selected as the pre-season favorites to win their respective divisions in the 2010 Big 12 Football Preseason Poll, with the Cornhuskers receiving unanimous support from media members who cover the league as the team to beat in the North Division.
Nebraska received all 26 first-place votes from poll respondents, who were asked to rank the teams in each division. Among teams in the South Division, Oklahoma received 16 of 26 first-place votes. Texas received the other 10.
Big 12 officials released the poll tosday. Pollsters were not asked to predict a conference champion, just winners of the respective divisions.
Based on voting points, media members predicted the South Division to finish in this order: Oklahoma, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Oklahoma State and Baylor. The Big 12 football media days begin Monday in Irving.
