Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin showed no ill effects from last year's reconstructive knee surgery in tonight's scrimmage in Waco, completing 17-of-21 passes for 183 yards and two touchdowns. It marked Griffin's first live game-type action since tearing his ACL in the third game of last season.
After the scrimmage, Griffin said the performance marked "another notch on the progress line" on his road to recovery.
"Being back here for the first time after tearing my ACL here was a big thing for me, mentally," said Griffin, who earned Freshman All-America honors in 2008. "It was sentimental. I'm back on this field and it felt good to be back out here."
Defensively, one of the stars of the night was redshirt freshman DE Terrance Lloyd, who finished with three sacks and five total tackles.
