The Miners and head coach Mike Price need all the good news they can get, and they may be receiving it should star RB Donald Buckram be able to play on Saturday. A first-team all-CUSA player last season, Buckram has been out since he sustained a leg injury just days before the start of the regular season.
He rushed for 1,594 yards last season.
"Donald is looking more and more like he's going to have a chance to play," Miners coach Mike Price said. "He was at his best right before (Saturday's game against NM St.). He looked fantastic and probably could've played. The only problem was that he hasn't gotten many tries in practice where he's running with the offense."
The Miners play Memphis this week in El Paso.
