A come-from-behind 27-20 win against Florida International was good only in the sense A&M won, and that they did come back from an embarrassing deficit.
The Aggies trailed 20-6 in the fourth quarter before they showed up. RB Christine Michael is among the best backs in the Big 12, in a fight among DeMarco Murray and Kendall Hunter to be listed next to Kansas State's Daniel Thomas.
Michael rushed 21 times for 119 yards and a touchdown to offset a wretched night by QB Jerrod Johnson.
JJ was a rotten 11-for-31 with FOUR interceptions against the Panthers. A&M turned the ball over five times, too. I'll shutup with the JJ For Heisman talk effective immediately.
Give the Aggies D a little credit. And when I say a little, I mean a little. After A&M scored the go-ahead touchdown with less than five minutes remaining, the Panthers moved to the Aggie 8 and had a first-and-goal. But the Aggies D held the Panthers out of the end zone to win the game.
I'm sticking with the Aggies until they prove otherwise. There is something here. But they are going to make mistakes; it's a question if those mistakes cost them the game. Against a real team, five turnovers will kill them every time.
