A&M just scored one of the more fortunate TDs it will score all season.
One play after QB Jerrod Johnson threw an apparent first-half ending interception, a penalty was called on La Tech for an illegal hit.
With an untimed down, Johnson took full advantage by espacing the rush and throwing up a prayer that receiver Uzoma Nwachukwu caught inside around the 5-yard line and rammed into the endzone for a 21-10 Aggies lead. The play went for 44 yards.
The sequence embodied the entire first half for both teams - sloppy.
A&M has four lost fumbles plus a missed field goal. The Bulldogs have lost two fumbles and two interceptions.
