No one should ever, ever root for an injury, but you can bet that the TCU coaches and the rest of the MWC took a read of the fact that BYU Riley Nelson lost its starting QB for the season. That's kind of a big deal.
But since it's BYU that means there is some other stud passer waiting to play. In this case, though, it's a kid. Literally. The Cougars plan to start true frosh Jake Heaps (who looks like he's 8 in that pic). He will become the first BYU true frosh QB to play since Drew Miller in 1997.
Of course, who are we kidding? BYU is not going to win the MWC. It's a three-team race between TCU, Utah and Air Force. The Notre Dame of the West was not going to win the conference, with or without a veteran QB.

What middle school is he playing for now? This kid is going to grow up in a hurry.
