The Pitt/Utah game is every reason we love college football. The Utes won in OT, 27-24. Great plays. Stupid plays. Turnovers. A bizarre sequence at the end of regulation when a game-tying field goal by Pitt is good, no good, and then good again.
- Utes QB Jordan Wynn is no longer the green freshmen the Frogs exposed in a blowout win last fall at Amon Carter. He was 21-of-36 with 283 yards and three touchdowns. The Utes may not be as good as TCU right now, but they will be a thorn in the Frogs’ butts for the MWC title.
- Why can’t Pitt ever live up to expectations?
- Pitt junior receiver Jonathan Baldwin will be one of the nation’s top receivers by season’s end. He’s 6-foot-5, 230 pounds, and a total genetic freak. - Minnesota receives the award for Dumbest School of the Century after it agreed to open its season at Middle Tennessee State. Why in the name of all things holy is a Big 10, 11,12 team opening at MTSU? This idea is almost as dumb as Paris Hilton telling cops she thought the cocaine in her purse was gum (as a side note, I believe her).
The Gophers rallied late to win deep in the fourth quarter, 24-17, but this is an awful sign for coach UM coach Tim Brewster.
- South Carolina, which beat up Southern Miss last night, will continue to be nothing more than an SEC tease under Captain Visor.
- Erin Andrews, you’re done. Sorry. The four lettered has found your replacement, and her name is ... Jenn Brown.
