It's official - the Houston Cougars' season is over. It's not of course, but the high hopes are gone when it was announced that Heisman candidate QB Case Keenum suffered a torn ACL against UCLA on Saturday night and will miss the rest of the season.
And just when that bad news was sinking in, No. 2 QB for the Coogs, Cotton Turner, is also out for the rest of the season after he suffered a broken clavicle against the Bruins.
That will leave true frosh QB Terrance Broadway to step in and lead an offense that was one of the nation's best under CK.
Even if you think the Coogs were an overrated joke and that CUSA is a waste of space, this is an awful way for a guy's career to end. And for a program that was building something this is terrible; the Coogs were drawing good crowds and establishing something of a fan base. That's going to take a serious hit.
This completely opens up the CUSA race; every team has a shot now, from UTEP to SMU to ECU.
