The Cowboys announced that LSU will play Oregon to start the 2011 season on Sept. 3, 2011 at JerryWorld.
The game will be carried on the four lettered.
The LSU-Oregon game will mark the second consecutive year in which the Tigers will open the season at a neutral site and on prime time TV. LSU opened the '10 season last week with a 30-24 victory over North Carolina in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game in Atlanta, otherwise known as the "Suspension Bowl", or "Les Miles Was Nearly Fired Bowl: VIII".
The game will mark the third year of a five-year agreement between JerryWorld and the four lettered to bring a top college football game to the new stadium each year during the Labor Day holiday weekend to start the college football season. The previous two contests have featured nationally ranked teams with Brigham Young University upsetting the University of Oklahoma 14-13 in 2009 and TCU defeated Oregon State 30-21 this past weekend.

Information on ticket sales and kickoff time will be announced at a later date. My gut tells me said tickets won't be cheap.

Les Miles is an absolute joke, regardless of the record. The man cannot even put two intelligent sentences together, it is alarming !
