Aggies coach Mike Sherman was pretty candid today when accessing his kicking situation.
"If there is someone on campus that can do that," Sherman told reporters today when asked if the kicking position was open. "If someone has any eligibility left in this room we'll look at that as well. We're not locked into anyone."
Most of the news from A&M's season opener win against Stephen F. Austin was positive, but the kicking game in College Station is fluid.
Kicker Randy Bullock's season-opening kickoff sailed out of bounds. His first field goal attempt, from 24 yards, hit the upright and was no good. He did come back to connect on kicks of 32 and 27 yards.
"The first field goal was unacceptable. I’m glad he was able
to come back and make the other two,” Sherman said. “We’re going to continue to
work with him and other kickers. It’s something I have concern about and will
continue to until we have consistency there.”

I want to try to kick. Where do I get this opportunity? I walked on my freshman year and did not make it due to no need for kickers but did very well at the try out. I played football in high school and received all-state honorable mention for kicking for the 2007-2008 academic year. I am a junior Nuclear Engineer down here at A&M with a very good GPR. So I am eligible.
