At long last some genuine seperation exists. The problem is the separation is rather massive.
1. TCU, 3-0. The Frogs remain a legit BCS title-game contender, but need to remain perfect. Air Force and Utah are not going to be easy outs, and the Frogs are every opponent’s Super Bowl.
2. Texas, 3-0. The D neutered the Red Raiders, and will keep their offense in every game.
(After these two there is a Pacific Ocean sized gap.)
3. Texas A&M, 3-0. Had to rally to beat Florida International. Let that sink in - the Aggies had to rally to beat Florida International at Kyle Field. The real sked begins Thurs (9/30) at Okie State.
4. Texas Tech, 2-1. Time for the Techies to admit this transition isn’t going to be easy, or pretty. Their offense was brutal against the Horns.
5. SMU, 2-1. A massive test awaits this Friday in Dallas against TCU. Expect the Ponies to lose, but keep it semi close.
6. Baylor, 2-1. Can get they get four more wins to become bowl eligible? It’s going to be close but at least one upset is necessary.
7. UTEP, 2-1. The Miners are here because UH lost Case Keenum for the season.
8. Houston, 2-1. Both of their top 2 QBs are out for the season. Season is over.
8.5 Stephen F. Austin, 2-1. It’s a I-AA program, but the Jacks had a huge win over the weekend at Northern Iowa, and are ranked in the top 10.
9. Rice, 1-2. The Owls are flapping towards another losing season.
10. North Texas, 0-3. The Mean Green is down to their third QB, former Carroll star Riley Dodge, who had been moved to WR.
