Yes, it is always uncomfortable to ask someone if they have lost weight, but it's rather obvious TCU coach Gary Patterson has indeed dropped some pounds. He said he's lost 17 pounds, mostly by running the stairs at Amon Carter Stadium.
Stadium steps can be a killer, but Patterson said he's steadily worked his way up and improved his strength and conditioning.
But his weight loss technique on Tuesday night was totally unintentional. Tuesday afternoon's practice was so hot and so miserable Patterson got sick.
"I had heat exhaustion," Patterson said after Wednesday's practice. "I felt terrible."
Wednesday, however, was much better. A front came in dropping the temperature dramatically that improved everyone's mood.
