Needed to mention this earlier, but for those who ever drive on I-35 near Waco, you have to make a point to eat at Heitmiller Family Steakhouse in Elm Mott.
203 Connally Dr
Elm Mott, TX 76640

Ate there the other day after a neighbor, who is a massive UT fan, suggested it because it's a stopping point between Austin and Fort Worth.
The man is 100 percent accurate - this is an affordable and outstanding steak. I ordered the 12 oz. ribeye with fries and mushrooms.
The chicken fried steak is recommended, but I can only do so much chicken fried steak in two weeks. The steak was juicy, big and loaded with the perfect amount of marble (a cute way to say "fat").
Do yourself a favor - the next time you're in this area, stop here for dinner.
