SMU QB Kyle Padron was named the CUSA Offensive Player of the Week for his performance against Rice on Saturday. He completed 24-of-32 passes for 371 yards, 3 TDs. It was SMU's first win at Rice since 1986.
Padron finished with 395 yards of total offense, which ranks 11th all-time in a game at SMU.
And on any other week you'd have to say Padron was The Man Of the Week.
Not so this time. What Baylor QB Robert Griffin III did to Kansas should leave several marks on the Jayhawks for the rest of the season.
"Let's not put an 'S' on his chest yet," Baylor coach Art Briles said after the game.
Hard not to after the KU game.
He threw for a career-high 380 yards with three touchdowns. RGIII finished with 444 yards of total offense, a single-game school record, in the Bears' 55-7 win against Kansas.
A lot of the TCU players said after its game against Baylor a few weeks ago that RGIII is not all the way back from the torn ACL he suffered last season, but he looked to be if not the best than the second-best QB in the Big 12.
